Is the economy getting a bit brighter?

Hi Friends,  Just wanted to let everyone know that Bonnie Mason sold the painting pictured above from our show hanging at "Cups" coffee shop in the Grandin Village, here in Roanoke, Va.  Bonnie was really excited to be on a roll, so to speak, because she has also sold 2 or 3 other paintings !!   We are all hoping this is a sign that the economy is actually getting better.  This show is hanging through the end of this month,  so go take a peek while you have a good cup of joe.!

“Mother Earth Awakens” Art Show will open April 1, 2013 at 2nd Helpings Gallery 1502 Williamson Road Northeast Roanoke, VA 24012. The art show will celebrate the joy of Spring in paintings by the “Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge": Mary Anne Meador, Bonnie Mason, Judy Lochbrunner, Linda Schaar, Sue Furrow, and Midge Ovenshire.

The public is invited to a reception on Saturday, April 13 from 1 PM to 3 PM. The reception will also feature a short program, “Creating a Painting from Start to Finish” by Sue Furrow at 2 PM as well as a slide show of the art, events and activities of the Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge.

The show will include works in oil, acrylic, watercolor and even mixed media. The community can follow the inspiration and creation of the show’s art work by logging on to the group’s blog:

The 2nd Helping Gallery hours are 10-3 Monday through Saturday. Additional information on the art show can be obtained by calling (540) 491-9405. The Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge can be contacted at
And a reminder that we have a new show going up next week at 2nd Helping.  We hope you won't miss the reception!
