Beautiful Trip to Apple Ridge Farm Camp

Hello Friends,  We went to the "Apple Ridge Farm Camp" in Copper Hill, off Rt. 221, Tuesday.  It has been crazy busy here so I'm just getting around to posting about this spectacular piece of heaven.
And you really do think, Maybe this is what heaven could be like.  Look at those fabulous logs, covered in a gorgeous green moss !  It's a perfect still life.
Here Bonnie and Janice are looking up at the heavenly view of Rhododendrons.  They are everywhere.  Can't wait to see them bloom.
Just one little stream or spring on this property
I don't remember what this equipment was called, probably something to cut/gather hay.  That is a pond way in the back.
This is one of Peter Lewis' obsessions or he calls it a joy.  Collecting stuff.  He has more than 2 buildings full.  You should see all the antiques.  His place may be featured on American Pickers or Black Dog Salvage.
This day was beautiful with sunshine and puffy clouds.  Still a wee bit chilly.  Peter's farm is dedicated to helping and advancing the children in this area.  Please look at their website and see all they do.  You can even help.
Double Line Painters and Apple Ridge are pondering the possibilities of a plein-aire event here in the future.  We will keep you informed.

Hope each and everyone of you have a great holiday.
Sincerely, the DLP

Harrogate Salem Terrace

Hello Friends,  WE, the Double Line Painters, are honored to tell you that we have a new venue to showcase our work at the beautiful Salem Terrace at Harrogate in Salem, Va.
They will be having a Holiday open house this Sunday, day after tomorrow, and we are hoping you will be able to ignore the bad weather predicted for Sunday and come out to see their beautiful facility and our new artwork.
The photo above is fuzzy (sorry) but it does let you know the art is hanging in the Internet CafĂ©, right off the lobby.  Have a wonderful weekend but stop by to say HI !

Workshop at the Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau

Hello Friends,  Just a short post to let you know we have not disappeared over the horizon.  Yesterday we attended a workshop to learn our possibilities when using the Free listings/pages provided by our visitors bureau here in the Roanoke Valley.  They have taken over the old Arts Council duties but it is now a free service.  Very few artists attended, which was surprising, because there was no charge.
The staff here at the visitors center is a real pleasure to work with.  All were so very helpful and friendly AND patient.  Above pictured, chatting with the DLP, is Catherine Herlocker.  A pretty, vivacious, entertaining young lady at the Visitors Center that was a huge help to all the technically challenged artists.
Tomorrow we will be hanging new art work at the Harrogate in Salem.  I will post some photos of the installation tomorrow.  Have a great evening.
