SEPTEMBER 17th --HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT

Hello Dear Friends,  Do you have your calendar marked??  The BEST Art Fest is going to be soon.
If you have never been, you are missing the best works of art in SW Virginia.
We, the DLP artists, will be there and set up in a row so you can find us easily.
The booth #'s will be 96, 95,94, 93, & 92, I believe I'm correct.  And this is a fence line close to Memorial Ave. and Langhorne Rd.

The top photo is a work by Mary Anne Meador.  "The Color of Clouds".  Mary Anne's work is always colorful, loose, painterly and lovely.
The second photo is by Sue Furrow.  Sue's work is really evolving and changing.  She loves all art but is striving to be more abstract, not so literal in her work.  This piece was jump started at SML, with the sun setting.

We hope you will come by and see our latest artist efforts.
Visit, chat, stay a minute.

And go ahead and pray for decent weather on Sept. 17, 2016 in Lynchburg.

YOU ARE INVITED

Saturday August 27 will find us at the Montgomery Museum Heritage Day (www.montgomerymuseum.org ) 10am to 3pm.  We will be painting plein air on the grounds.  The festival is free and promises to have many fun activities including a huge silent auction that raises money for the museum.

On Friday September 2,  We will be at First Fridays at the Center for Pets at the Lynchburg Humane Society  (lynchburghumane.org) from 5-8PM. The Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge will be having an art show in the community room. There will be live music, food trucks, beer and wine to purchase in addition to all the dogs, cats, rabbits and a few other animals ready for all the visitors while waiting to be adopted.  A portion of any art sales benefit the animals.

We hope you can schedule some time to come to either or both events and chat for a while.

Our Beautiful Valley

Hello Friends,  Hope you enjoy seeing photos of our beautiful Valley here in SW Virginia.
We, Double Liners, were going to trek down (or maybe up) the Blue Ridge Parkway but that weather station threw us a curve ball.  We thought it would be stormy but it was just swelteringly HOT..
So I don't think anyone minded being in their studios.

We do have an event coming up soon, and we hope the weather station is wrong again.  The Montgomery Museum is having a HERITAGE DAY.
Click above and you can see their post about this event.
We will be there and plan to plein air and enjoy the visitors.

Hope to see you there.

A GREAT DAY TO STAY INDOORS

Hello Friends,  Can you tell from the photo above that it is cloudy, foggy, rainy here in SW Virginia??
At times, it was coming down in buckets!

So the Double Line Painters decided to just have a Calendar Day.  That's when we sit with our teas and coffees and hot cross buns and pick locations for plein air adventures for the next couple of months.
And what we need to do for up coming shows/exhibits, etc.

Example in 2017 we will have an exhibit of LARGE PAINTINGS.  And I mean the kind of large that you have to make your own canvas.

Judy Lochbrunner has a nice blogpost about this canvas making HERE.  Just in case you want to make a huge canvas.

So as more info comes to light I shall post it right here.

Meanwhile -
